Special People, Special Purpose | 1 Peter 2:3-9 | Pastor Andrew Coleman | 9/28/2025
In this sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman continues our 1 Peter series. In 1 Peter 2, believers are reminded that though the world may reject Christ, He is the Cornerstone—chosen and precious in God’s sight. Those who belong to Him are not ordinary; rather, Christians are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession. Peter calls believers to remember who they once were: lost in darkness, stumbling in unbelief. BUT now, through Christ, Christians are God’s redeemed people, brought into His marvelous light. This identity isn’t earned by works but is given by God’s sovereign choice, His mercy, and the blood of Christ that purchases sinners. As living stones built on Christ the Cornerstone, Christians are called to live holy lives, proclaim His excellencies, and show the world what it means to belong to God. This truth gives believers confidence, security, and purpose, even in a world hostile to the Christian faith. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_93313fdc7c134c119d55fe3850e1d6ec.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_3c619281182149b0a4587854e3a7e69b.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/
