Living Knowing the End is Near | 1 Peter 4:7-11 | Pastor Jason Hill | 03/08/2026
Life is short, and Christ could return at any moment. In this passage, Peter reminds believers that “the end of all things is at hand,” calling Christians to live with urgency, purpose, and devotion to God. Rather than living for temporary pursuits, followers of Christ are called to focus on what matters most: prayer, love, and service within the body of Christ. Peter urges believers to be self-controlled and sober-minded so their prayers remain focused on God’s purposes. He calls the church to love one another earnestly—demonstrating forgiveness, unity, and practical care through hospitality. And he reminds every believer that God has given spiritual gifts to be used faithfully in serving others and building up the church. Ultimately, these commands point to one goal: that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. As we remember the brevity of life and the certainty of Christ’s return, we are called to live in a way that reflects His greatness and advances His kingdom. How should we live knowing the end is near? By praying thoughtfully, loving fervently, and serving faithfully—all for the glory of God. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_0bf722184ba44d5c9a7ae5c82308525c.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_e27b0b6ce0b941539e58870fbcb710e5.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/
