More Movement Please
Health, Fitness & Longevity
About
I walked into my first Zumba class and lasted 15 minutes before I had to leave because I couldn't breathe. I couldn't do a single jumping jack. I couldn't hold a plank. I was using 5-pound dumbbells and calling them my "big weights." That was August 2023. Today? 400+ group fitness classes. 26 pounds down. I'm using 15-pound dumbbells, taking multiple classes in a day, and chasing those 20-pounders that keep haunting me from across the weight rack. I'm Famous Ashley Grant, and More Movement Please is my fitness podcast — a digital diary from a woman over 40 who got tired of wishing she was stronger and finally did something about it. I record most of these episodes in my car on the way to and from the gym, so they're quick (5-10 minutes), honest, and easy to binge. Think of me as your workout buddy who keeps it real. This show is part accountability, part education, part inspiration. I talk about beginner fitness tips, gym motivation, what to do when you sleep through your alarm, why most fitness influencers are full of it, and how small lifestyle changes beat crash diets every single time. Sometimes I bring on guests — like my YMCA instructor Rhonda Goode, who told me the thing that changed everything: "Everyone is busy, but it's a choice to schedule exercise just like anything else." The goal isn't a number on a scale. It's getting strong, feeling better in my body, and building a community of people who believe they deserve to move. I want this to be more than a podcast. I want it to be a movement of movement. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. New episodes weekly. Onwards and upwards, friends. Have you worked out today?
