The Bombing of United Air Flight 629
United Airlines flight 629 exploded in the air on November 1, 1955, ten minutes after departing Denver, killing all 44 passengers and crew. Investigators determined the plane was sabotaged with a bomb, marking the first time a passenger plane was bombed in the United States.
