When we don’t know what to expect we can become quite stubborn and play into the hands of avoidance. Belting down rain is not an incentive to strip down to the bathing suit and strut around in the freezing cold. But had we not found a way to convince ourselves it was worth it, we would not have discovered the absolute zen of immersing in magical hot spring pools.
