Wednesday in the Octave of Easter, Luke 24:13-35
Luke 24:13-35 describes the experience of two disciples on the road to Emmaus whose hearts burned within them as Jesus spoke and opened the Scriptures. They recognized him in the breaking of the bread, after which they returned to Jerusalem to share their encounter.
