Colorado Woman Vanishes After Best Friend Visits
Nineteen-Year-Old Lea Porter visited a former high school friend, Christopher Waide, at his Westminster, Colorado apartment in June 2014 and was never seen again. When her family grew suspicious, her brother Maxx lured Waide to a park gazebo under the guise of a tarot card reading to find Lea, secretly recording their conversation. Waide initially denied knowing anything but then admitted to strangling her. Maxx punched him and forced him to call 911 and confess. Waide pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and sexual exploitation and was sentenced to 48 years in prison. Despite a 40-day search of a landfill, Lea's remains have never been found.
