January 24: Saint Francis de Sales, Bishop and Doctor—Memorial

January 24th is the memorial of Saint Francis de Sales, Bishop and Doctor, who lived from 1567–1622. He is the patron saint of authors, journalists, writers, deaf persons, and educators. Canonized in 1665 and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1877, his liturgical color is white.
