Lawmakers Push Ban on Cancer-Linked Hair Chemicals
House Democrats have introduced the Healthy Hair Act to ban formaldehyde in hair straightening and smoothing products, due to links to cancer and other health issues disproportionately affecting Black women. The FDA also proposed a ban in 2023, which is still pending.
